A superb pair of Ercol 204 chairs with refinished frames and new cushion covers. These fabulous Windsor style chairs from the late 20th century are at first glance the same as the iconic 203 model. Indeed they are a very similar design with spindle backs and upwardly sweeping arms, however the seat is slightly higher and shallower than the 203 model offering the same overall elegance with an arguably more comfortable seating position. The main seat and back cushion covers are pure wool Melton style fabric in a dark teal. The square cushion covers are Clarke & Clarke’s Reno fabric backed in teal wool. All covers are all zipped and suitable for dry cleaning. It is advisable to request a fabric sample as the tone and colour depiction may vary depending on your device.

The beech frames are in excellent condition for their age and have received light restoration, a clear coat of Osmo sealant and a wax finish.

These are extremely comfortable and versatile chairs. Please note the following important points regarding the refurbishment as the foam cushion pads and webbing have Not been replaced. The foam seat and back cushions were manufactured by Ercol and came with the chairs when purchased by Take A Pew. As they were much newer than the actual chair frames and in excellent condition they have been re-used with just the covers being replaced (They have Ercol labels attached to the foam and comply with current fire regulations). The Pirelli webbing was replaced by the previous owners fairly recently and is still in very good condition. We strongly believe any materials which are still safe and functional should be retained wherever possible and these factors have been taken into account when calculating the sale price.
