The G Plan Siesta chair and footstool was a ground breaking design from E Gomme (the former name for G Plan) in the mid 1950’s offering a modern, cutting edge form along with unrivalled comfort. Promoted in the G Plan catalogue as “scientifically designed to give uniform support from the nape of the neck to the back of the knees”, this is exactly what the Siesta offers. Exuding mid century style, these iconic G Plan chairs are amazingly comfortable, extremely sought after and highly collectible.

This particular chair was produced in black so staying with its origins both chair and footstool have been refurbished and painted in a low sheen jet black. The fabric used in the refurbishment is called Chess, a striking ochre/light grey weave which complements the frames perfectly. It is advisable to request a fabric sample as the colour depiction may vary depending on your device.

With completely new foam, fabric and filling materials throughout and the original springs which are all in excellent condition, this is a superbly comfortable and supportive lounging combination. The footstool can be manually adjusted from the level position to a downwards tilt at the feet, offering complete head to toe comfort and relaxation. Both chair and footstool frames are in good condition for their age and have been sanded and painted with Guild Lane’s Jubilee Fine Paint in Jet Black.

All fabric, foam and filling materials used in the refurbishment comply with current UK fire regulations for domestic use.
